Tsukiko smiled as the orange and black ball slipped through net with a pleasing swish sound. It bounced up off the ground with a smack and she snatched it back up in her small hands. It was only her second day at the school and she had already found a huge play area for one of her favorite sports. She focused and shot the ball again only to be met with the dull clank of the ball rebounding off the rim. Tsukiko sighed as she caught the ball once again. It would just be more fun with a partner to play against...

It was a nice sunny afternoon. So what better than a walk? Well, since the explosion incident, Akemi finally decided to do just that.
As the blonde passed a court, she noticed a girl playing alone. How strange... must be no fun Akemi thought.
"Yo, mind if I join?" Akemi asked the girl. Luckily Akemi was dressed for exercise, as she was wearing a clean, albeit hole-y, pair of jeans and a grey tank top. She looked her typical punk-ish way, and Akemi hoped she wouldn't scare this girl. After all, basketball is boring with just one person.

Tsukiko whirled around to be met with a blond staring back at her with a friendly smile. She tossed the ball at the girl with a grin, "Sure! After all two is better than one!" Tsukiko hoped she didn't look too stupid in front of this new person.

With a smile, Akemi dribbled the ball a few times. Basketball wasn't Akemi's forte. She had good upper body strength, but was weak in the legs. This girl looked like she'd have more speed than Akemi. But then again, Akemi had the advantage of being ambidexterous... that always seemed to throw people off.
" 'ight, I'm coming," Akemi said as she made her way to the basket.

Tsukiko spread out her legs, ready to sprint. This girl looked to be a good ball driver, accounting for the muscular arms. The blonde was also much taller, giving Tsukiko the advantage in knocking the ball away from under. Tsukiko had been playing for a few years and concluded that a lay up would be the best way to go after she had possesion of the ball. Tsukiko crouched and set off, ready to knock away the moving ball.

Aw shucks Akemi thought as she saw the girl move, she looks good... she'll be able to get the ball...
Well, she'd managed to get close enough... and this was only a fun match anyway.
So Akemi shot the ball at the net. Hey, ya never know, it might go in...
OOC: I'll let you decide if it makes it in ^_~

'Nice', Tsukiko thought, her eyes glued to the ball soaring towards the net. It looked to be right about there but before the ball could go furthur it rolled around the rim and silently slipped off, landing with a dull thunk to the pavement. She ignored it an turned to face the slightly musty blonde. Tsukiko held out a hand and said in a polite tone, "Good game but I really think you got robbed of that shot." Tsukiko smiled broadly, "My name is Tsukiko. I'm glad to meet you!"

"Eh, I wasn't expecting it to go in. I just knew I was fighting a losing battle, so I thought I'd take a chance," Akemi said with a wink, "The name's Akemi Rakurai." Akemi shook Tsukiko's hand firmly.
"But you're really good at this. How long've you been playing?" Akemi asked.

"I've only been playing for about three years, but I do other sports that have to do with speed and precision, and those add to my skill in basketball. I was also on a team at my old school." Tsukiko fidgeted, unsure if she should ask who Akemi might already know at the school. There were certain to be others she could play sports with. She liked to know others names so she could address them properly in the halls and ask their interest. Tsukiko hoped that didn't sound too weird. "Would you happen to know anybody that might be nice to meet? I've only seen some nameless people around here."

"Hmmm... well, I've only met two girls, Kayoko-kun and Tomomi-kun. They're both nice," Akemi replied honestly, "I believe they are both in Daaku. What kumi are you in? Oh, I'm in Buruu." Akemi's voice was forthright and casual. Well, Akemi wasn't one for either manners or politeness. This was a girl who couldn't even tell white lies. Actually, she just sucked at lying, so she had simply decided to stop trying at a young age. Unfortunately, this made her a bit too frank... many people saw her as mean instead.
