Akemi strode through the majestic trees in the orchard. The trees were calming, in their own way. So Akemi had decided to take a walk after class was over. In fact, she had been too lazy to change out of her uniform. She wore her skirt long, a Yankee style, and her uniform had her blue Buruu colors.
But the dark clouds overhead finally got Akemi's attention.
"That... doesn't look good," Akemi muttered to herself. She started to walk in the direction she thought would take her to the dorms.
But Akemi never had the best sense of direction... and the endless unchanging lines of trees didn't help either.
So, an hour later, Akemi was still outside, soaked to the bone and the downpour had been going strong for almost 45 minutes, and was still going strong. Akemi was tired from running around trying to find her way out.
Akemi slapped herself lightly a few times to keep herself from getting depressed. She then set out again to find her way out. The wind picked up suddenly, and Akemi lost her footing and fell into the mud.
This is why I hate skirts Akemi growled in her mind, as she felt the cold rain pour even harder on her unprotected legs. She attempted to shove herself up only to slip again in the mud.

Kayoko was walking gingerly across with an umbrella, enjoying the rain, mother nature's tears of joy! Then she spotted Akemi down on the mud. Kayoko ran toward her, bringing her umbrella. "Here, take it! Or you'll surely catch your death out here!" Kayoko said. Kayoko tried to help her up, only ending up falling down with her.

Akemi wished she could laugh at Kayoko for falling down, but she didn't have the heart at this point. Instead, she finally managed to get herself up again.
"Hypocrite!" Akemi said with a wry smile, "Here, let me help you up..." she added as she lifted the girl up onto her feet again.

Kayoko laughed. "Thanks, I'm such a klutz. I remembered which way our dorms were. Are you, perhaps, lost?" Kayoko stood up and lifted her umbrella above the both of them. "Now we're both going to catch our death!" Kayoko said, laughing and looking at them both covered in mud.

"Well, standing here won't get us any drier. I'll let you lead the way back..." Akemi said, being reasonable. She didn't want to get lost anymore. And she was cold.
"I'm used to being dirty, but I dislike this wet and cold stuff, so let's go," Akemi said, her teeth starting to chatter.

Kayoko took off her sweater and put it around Akemi, after seeing her teeth chatter. "I'm used to being cold, but not dirty, so I'll be fine without my sweater." Kayoko said, starting to walk them both back to their dorms.

"Thanks. So... why were you out here?" Akemi asked, trying to make conversation as they walked. She didn't want to let her mind wander to more... unpleasant things. Like the cold, the wet, the dirt... WAIT! Best stop right there...

Kayoko smiled. "Mother nature's bounty supplies us. I had to see the water cycle in action!!" Kayoko said excitedly, like a child seeing it's first toy.

"Eh??" Akemi said, flabbergasted. Really... such a silly thing...
"Er... right. You've never seen it before," Akemi said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Kayoko grinned. "Well in my old school, we weren't allowed to go outside! Is was the worst!"
