Yasuo sighed, stretching out his hand and gripping Kayoko's shoulder. "Actually, Kayoko...I wanted to make sure if you're okay. You've been kind of down, I've noticed."
And I would be the one To hold you down Kiss you so hard I'll take your breath away And after, I'd wipe away the tears Just close your eyes dear

Kayoko smiled sadly. "Yes, I suppose so. My mother died, I saw this coming. Doctors told us so." She sighed. "...And my father disappeared a long time ago. He's a photographer, you see. He travels the world, and gets payed well for it." Kayoko pulled out a crumpled up newspaper, yellowed with dust, but in good condition. The title: PHOTOGRAPHER MISSING. The details: Kyo Arigawa, went missing on a photography misson in Africa. Many say he is dead, leaving Miyuki and Kayoko Arigawa alone in Japan. Other relatives in America, and no funeral will be held, due to there being no body. He is said to be last seen..." Kayoko sighed. "Yes, relatives have beckened me to come to America. Today is the third time I have refused." She smiled, she was talking so depressing in front of one of her best friends! "But that happens to all of us! We go down, then back up! That's life!"

Yasuo blinked at the newspaper, nodding vaguely. "I figured someone had died that you were close to. I could see it in your eyes that day in science class..I'm sorry I couldn't help you then. I was so caught up in my sadness that I couldn't reach out to help yours."
Yasuo smiled grimly at Kayoko. "But I see that you're strong enough," he shook her by the shoulder lightly, "And I can always lend you a shoulder if you need it. I just want the shoulder back when you're done," Yasuo grinned.
Into this night I wander It's morning that I dread Another day of knowing of The path I fear to tread

Kayoko smiled. "Thank you, Yasuo-san." She looked at him thoughtfully. "...Your sadness?"

Yasuo grinned, waving her off. "Ah, that's over with. No need to linger on it! It's like you said, 'You go down and you come back up again!'" Yasuo nodded, laying down and placing his hands behind his head.
Oh, into the sea of waking dreams I follow without pride Nothing stands between us here And I won't be denied!

Kayoko nodded and smiled. "I guess that's right!" She looked at the sky, it was kind of rare to see it so clear around this time. Kayoko sighed. "Yes, you're right..But.." She glanced at Yasuo, then returned her gaze back to the sky. "..Sometimes you seem..Okay, most of the time you seem..depressed or something."

Yasuo smirked and nestled into a more comfortable position on the grass. "Naw, not depressed. Maybe a little out of it, I guess. But, like I said, that's all behind me now! I'm moving on and smiling a whole lot more."
And I would be the one To hold you down Kiss you so hard I'll take your breath away And after, I'd wipe away the tears Just close your eyes dear

Kayoko grinned. "That's good to hear! I'm usually happy if most my friends are happy!" She also tried to lay in a relaxing position in the grass.

Yasuo watched as Kayoko laid down and tried to relax. He chuckled and sighed, scratching the back of his neck and listened intently to the song as it whispered the last verse.
I would hold you down Kiss you so hard I'll take your breath away And after, I'd wipe away your tears Just close...your eyes....

Kayoko heard the last part of the song and smiled. "That's a very nice song. It almost..makes you want to..drift off..." She smiled again, sighed and unconciously drifted off to sleep herself.
