Kohana walked into the dorms and ploped down on a chair. It would only be her luck that the chair was on it's last legs and broke underneath her. Kohana yelped as she fell to the floor. Instead of getting up she lay there in the rubble. She groaned annoyed and threw hew arm over her eyes to block out out the lights. She succed in that but also knocked herself in the head with her cast.
These were just toppers on her day. Alreadly she Had woke up late for class, recived a detention for it. At lunch some of her food had been knocked on her staining her outfit. The for dentention she had been gradeing papers in detention gotten a paper cut and found out she had recived an f on the last test.
Detention had also made her late for takeing her painkillers for her arm, that was throbbing painfully. Kohana laid there pathetically. She should of just stayed in bed today, but no she had to get up, well she wasn't makeing that mistake again. She was going to lay there and wallow in selfpity, at least it couldn't get any worse.

Yasuo looked at the fallen Kohana with an arched brow. He leaned against a wall and sighed, crossing his arms. "It might be more comfortable if you're sitting on a chair that isn't broken," he drawled, starting to walk his way over. When he finally stood above her, he looked down at Kohana and grinned. "Bad day?" he asked, offering her a hand.

Kohana uncovered her face to see Yasuo. She hadn't realized anyone was in the room but then again she hadn't looked either. "Maybe, I've always thought laying on the floor with bits of broken chair under me was something I should try," she said lacing every word with sarcasm. "I'm beginning to hate the chairs at this school."
Kohana looked at his hand and did nothing. "I shouldn't touch you it might rub off and then you'd be jinxed. I wouldn't want to be responsible if the building collapsed on you or you get struck with lightning and fried or something." She was just joking when she said all of this: however she made no move to get up.
The girl paused for a moment, starring at his hand, debating weather or not to get up. Finally she went for it and let him help her up. " Thank you. I haven't had my medicine yet," she muttered walking over to a cabinet.
On her way over the was sulking about her day not paying attention to where she was going. It would of been better if she had, maybe then she would have noticed someone moved the furniture around a little. She walked straight into the corner of a coffee table, that would leave a mark.
Kohana hung her head sighing heavily, her eyes watering in frustration. She continued walking going over to the cabinet. When she got there she kicked the mini island/bar half growling at it half screaming as if it were all that poor cabinets fault. Fortunately it was strong enough to withstand her little temper tantrum. Finally she got her medicine out and took an extra pain killer for good measure. It didn't matter to her at that point that the nurse had specifically warned her against it. "Yes it has been a miserable day."

"I'm not scared of the consequences," Yasuo muttered as he helped her up. She then began to walk across the room, knicking a coffee table and kicking a cabinet. Finally she answered his question and he smiled, sitting down in a chair.
"Why has it been miserable, when there's so much to smile at," he stated, a half-smile plastered on his face.

Kohana looked at him like he was crazy. This Yasuo seemed more cheerful the the some what distant one she knew. "Okay, you've got me. What's gotten into you? Did Cupid shoot you or some thing?"
Kohana walked over to the couch avoiding all stationary objects. "Appearently you've had a better day than me, You name it probably went wrong for me." 'okay so I'm exagerating a little, but still,' kohana thought to herself. The girl sat gingerly next to him with a few feet between them then sunk into the deep couch.

"What's gotten into me?" Yasuo asked, chuckling. "Why, nothing. Its just the truth: there's a lot to smile at." Yasuo placed his arms behind his head and relaxed his usually tense body, becoming almost like a ragdoll thrown carelessly on the couch.
"But fine. What's made it so miserable?"

Kohana gave him a testing glance, he actually wanted to know? She sighed and then drew in a long breath to tell him. "I set my alarm clock last night so I would get up in time. No Use to stupid thing decided it hated me and died overnight. I still need to get batteries for the wretched machine. So because that thing went kaput's I slept in. Since I slept in I had to rush to get to my classes. I got to my first class late, with out breakfast mind you, and because I was late the teacher gave me a detention. Heaven forbid I be late to one class. By The next class I was getting hungry and my stomach growled all through class, it was so embarrassing. It seemed like everyone kept starring at me. Finally in the class after that I was so hungry I couldn't pay attention All I could think of was what I would get for lunch After class. The teacher noticed and made me stand up at the chalk board with my nose in a little circle she drew. That stupid thing stunk bad."
Kohana looked at him to see If he was paying attention at all or not. After a moment she decided she didn't care either way, it just made her feel better to whine about it. So she continued..
"Then he made me stay after class to 'discuss my behavior.' Finally when I go get some thing to eat I see that I had about ten minuets to eat before I had to head to detention. I got some cheese soup, which looked really good by the way. Well I was going to sit down and some kid knocked into my tray when he was getting up. I ended up wearing most of it, so I had to spend the rest of lunch cleaning what I could up. Next was detention. The Sensei had me Grade papers while she lectured me the entire time about the importance of being on time."
Kohana looked to the floor more embarrassed yet. "I found out I got an F on my last test And got a painful little paper cut that sliced up my finger. I was suppose to be back here by then, If I was I could have changed , gotten a band-aid for my finger, and then taken my medication for my arm but nooo I had to have a detention."
"Then on my way here the soccer team loaded off their nasty dirty laundry on me. They partially forced me to do it while they played with the soccer ball in the hall. That stuff was so rank it practically crawled into the washer itself. And then you've seen the rest."
Kohana didn't care at the moment that she was still wearing her stained clothing or that she wasn't sitting very lady like in the chair, what did it matter he couldn't see anything. As if attesting to her story her stomach growled slightly. If Yasuo were paying attention he would have noticed that Kohanas face was slowly turning pale from the extra pain killer. She really did look quite a mess.

Yasuo nodded throughout her whole story, counting things off using his fingers. When she'd finished, he smiled and stood up to pace about the room.
"Does sound like quite the experience today," he stepped across the room and stared at a wall for a little while before he turned around. Yasuo smiled again, closing his eyes and inhaling.
"But at least you've eaten," Yasuo finally said. "If not today, then yesterday. If not yesterday, then the day before. You know, there are people out in the world who haven't eaten in weeks...months. There are people out in the world who would love to take a test and fail it. At least they're in a learning enviroment. There are people who've had much worse than a papercut. There are people who would just love to be able to sleep in a bed and wake up late for class, instead of waking up in the dirt with nothing to look forward to that day."
Yasuo sat back down and sighed. For some reason, he felt old at the moment. "At least you have your health and your friends. Out in the world, there are people who would kill to get anything we have." A downcast look and a drooping head, Yasuo put his hand over his mouth. "I know that firsthand.."

At first Kohana Just gave him a totally unbelieving stare. Of course there were those people, and If she had known any she would have gladly let them have this day. It's not like she could feed them and pay for all of their schooling. How could he just sit there and tick off the things on his fingers and then tell her she didn't have it all that bad. This had to be in the running for the most horrible day in her life.
Then he added that last little bit. Kohana stared at him hard trying see if her was playing some sick joke on her. When she realized he was telling the truth her eyes widened shocked. Here she was being a selfish little brat whining to him about things that wouldn't matter two days down the road when he had Experienced such horrors. Now she felt guilty, ashamed and depressed.
The girls eyes watered up. She should have stayed in bed today, it would have made for a much better day. Kohana got off of the couch and made her way over to the medicine cabinet once more. Once she was no longer facing him she let the hot tears roll silently down her cheeks. This darn pain she felt wasn't going away quickly enough. Maybe if sh took another pill it would help. besides she had missed her last dosage so it shouldn't hurt to make up for it now, right?
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone whining to the first person who would listen." Kohana said simply while struggling with the bottle." I should have took it in stride and thought about how good I have i right? How this is nothing and I should be thankful to have such a glorious day."

Yasuo smiled and twiddled his thumbs, leaning his head back and sighing. "You know, I once met a kindly priest. He told me I should smile a lot because I had it so good. At that time, I had nothing. I was running from the law and had no place to stay, but he allowed me to stay at the small church he preached at," Yasuo's eyes twinkled as he recalled the events of his past.
"One day I told him of my troubles and why I had an excuse to be sad and all that kind of stuff. He sat me down and began writing a list of all the bad things that I told him of," Yasuo repositioned himself on the couch and relaxed.
"Then he suddenly said, 'I'm sorry you lost your leg.' I shook my head and asked him what he meant: I had my leg. So he wrote that down as a good thing on the list. Then he said to me, 'I'm sorry you have no place to stay.' And I looked at him like he was mad, for he had just given me shelter. So he added that to the good side of the list."
Yasuo smiled and tapping his finger on the armrest of the couch. "By then I got the message and suddenly realized there was a lot I could smile at. And now there's a whole lot more to smile at, to laugh at."
