Kei was slumped down an alleywall, and it was pretty dark, but it wasn't strange seeing as it was about ten o' clock at night. In a rut- she went missing all afternoon. She thought it was over, and everything was good...She thought she'd never be found by anyone there. She was wrong. 'Nii-san...Cousin Yasuo...Can you ever forgive me..?', Kei thought sadly as she cried. She looked up, someone was there with a flashlight. 'Someone...Someone was looking for me? Worried...For me?'

Yasuo ran down the nearly empty street. It was dark with the hardly even half the moon out tonight. The light ahead of Yasuo, caused by the flashlight he held, bobbed up and down on the pavement as he sprinted. He was panting and sweating, but he continued to force himself to run.
He'd been looking for Kei. His cousin usually followed him, an exception being a few times when she wanted to be by herself. And Yasuo had always let her go alone, for he knew the feeling. But this was different. He'd waited outside her dorm room but no one had come in that night. Then Yasuo searched the school with no results. Taking a flashlight from his room, he'd taken to looking downtown.
He tripped and rolled on the ground. The flashlight rolled away for a second. Yasuo groaned and stood quickly, picking up the item and beginning to turn away. But it had shone on someone in a dark alley and Yasuo got curious. He held it up and there was Kei.
"Kei!" he cried, dropping the flashlight and kneeling beside his cousin. "Kei..." he breathed with relief. "What are you doing out here?"

Kei smiled at Yasuo. "Nii-san...I was just resting." She wiped her eyes and gave a 'Kayoko' smile, hoping he would shove it off as nothing. "Just...Just resting."

Yasuo stared right into Kei's eyes, an old flame returning. He cupped her chin with his hand and held her head up to force their stares together. Then he repeated, this time in a much firmer, brotherly voice.
"What are you doing out here, Kei? What happened?"

Kei sighed, she didn't really want to tell him. She decided to ask a question, and she hoped he'd get it. "You know Germany has no laws against forced marriage right?", She asked softly, pulling at the glove on her left hand. "...I'll show Nii-san...But Yasuo might get mad."

Yasuo sighed and turned away. He didn't want to see what she was going to show him, for he already had a very clear idea of what it was. But he didn't want to jump the gun here. Yasuo had already learned the outcome of rash actions and he remained silent, turning back to face Kei.
The only thing he did was softly stroke Kei's cheek, as if trying to let her know that he'd still love her no matter what.

Yes, he now knew. Kei sighed and ripped the glove off her hand. An engagement ring was sparkling, but it mocked her badly. The worst part was there were dozens of new cuts around her left hand, making it very clear that Kei never wanted to wear the thing in the first place. "...Kei lied. Everything came so fast...I...I just..."

Yasuo stared at the newly cut scars on Kei's arm, then to the ring on her finger. He felt a strange rage come over him, but he wasn't sure if he was mad at Kei for cutting herself and not telling anyone, or if he was mad at the parents for this act.
Trembling with anger, Yasuo grunted and wrapped his fingers around the ring. He gave Kei a look that said 'Don't worry' before he slipped it off.
"Kei, we're going to fight this," he said as he pocketed the ring. "Haven't I told you that you can come to me if you need help?" Yasuo sighed and stood. "Alright. Come on," he held his hand out to Kei, "We're going to end this wedding. Unless," Yasuo then said thoughtfully, "I doubt it, but do you like whoever it is that you would've married?"

Kei nodded, too scared to really say anything. Yasuo, her cousin and for the first time, was actually scaring her...He looked so mad... "He coming...Tomorrow. I got a letter...But I...I don't want to marry him because..." She shook her head as the image of Tsuge appeared. "Because I...I like someone else. So so much I like him. Ever since he talk to me, I feel special inside...But it wasn't ment to be. But I will...I will still admire him...and watch over him...", Kei said as she took his hand and leaned on him, crying softly.

Yasuo sighed and held Kei closely. His eyes still retained the fire of hate however, so he hid them from his cousin. "Don't worry," he cooed, "I'm going to make sure that no one can marry you till you want to be married, okay?"
He patted her softly on the back and tried to make her smile, "And, if I can, I'll see what I can do about your Prince Charming. How's that sound?" Yasuo pulled away and tried to grin, but his feeling made him fail miserably. Instead, he looked away.
