Yasuo sighed and looked at the floor, downcast. "Kayoko, there's so many things I don't know where to start. I'm weak and emotionally unstable. I ran away from home, from the authorities years ago and I found myself in America, hiding in New Mexico. I was deemed as insane in that part of the world and was sent back here."
He spoke in a rushed tone of voice, hoping Kayoko wouldn't make anything of it. "I find myself wallowing in guilt and remembering things I don't want to." But he suddenly slowed himself down and groaned.
"I was part of a gang. Bad one; drug deals, scarring the neighborhood, and at one point, killing people." Yasuo let himself go limp in Kayoko's arms again, feeling himself become too weak. "I've killed someone, Kayoko. At one point in my life, I was what I had and still do fear."

Kayoko hugged Yasuo tightly, she was on the brink of crying. He was so strong to go through all that! And to break down only once...and tell her about it, that's truthful too! "...But you've changed Yasuo. There's no need to feel guilty, if you keep looking back on the past, you won't be able to see the light of the future. "
She started to cry, but it wasn't because she was sad. "...I'm proud of you...You changed! Even if it was a little bit...I'm so proud of you!"

Yasuo blinked in confusion as he gazed upon Kayoko. He hadn't expected that from her. She'd totally disregarded his faults without a hint of hate in her voice. "Kayoko," he breathed, still dumbfounded. He put his arms back around her, slowly and hesitantly.
There was no punishment. No hating. Only love. Yasuo tried to take it in with little avail. "Uh.." All his life he'd been hounded by his past. Unforgiven by what little friends he had. Cast out by all those who hated him and chased by guilt. Yasuo blinked stupidly, failing to regain his wits.

Kayoko wiped her tears and smiled. "Is something wrong, Yasuo?"

Yasuo forcefully closed his eyes, trying to think. "No. I'm fine now, thank you." He smiled at her, betraying his own feelings and nuzzling her neck lightly. But his head was still swirling from her quick forgiveness.
Casting away his thoughts, Yasuo sighed. "Thanks for checking on me, Kay. Let's go back and get some rest, huh?"

Kayoko smiled and nodded. "Okay. But first...Are you sure you're okay? You seem...confused."

Yasuo laughed. "I think we're all a little confused about something, Kayoko. Let's just leave it confusing and not understand it. I doubt our mind has the capacity to withhold all of life's secrets." With that he grinned at Kayoko. "But thanks for worrying."

Kayoko smiled but inside she was holding a question mark. "...Okay. If you ever have a nightmare again, you can tell me about it okay?"

Yasuo nodded, smiling at her as he stood up and dusted himself off. Suddenly the corridors didn't seem so dark as Yasuo's eyes had finally adjusted to the lack of light.
"Well then," he sighed. "Let's head on to bed."

Kayoko stood up and nodded. "Okay, good night!", She said smiling.
