Mika's first, stupid reaction to that was to laugh. She chuckled lowly, hiding it in her hand at first, but then erupted into peals of laughter. What the hell was he thinking? That she'd jump him? What kind of girl did he think she was? She then remembered he probably had no idea, since they'd just met and that only made her laugh harder.
She put a hand on the book shelve, holding onto it for support. It was the weirdest thing to ever happen to her. Last time she'd done that, the guy had jumped on her practically and since slapping him was already out of question, she had had to kick him. She was fragile, yes, but this kind of things always gave her a sense of power. Yes, power had a very dangerous appeal to Mika, even if she tried to hide it.
After finally getting a hold of herself, she saw him leave with such a harried expression she suddenly felt bad. She sighed, leaving him alone would be better than running around after him. She'd apologize later. Too bad he left though, since Rinji was the first guy to actually think before acting in front of Mika and she developed a sort of respect towards him. It was the kind of feeling you gave to someone who you know it's better than you, but wouldn't want to prove it and officially make a fool of yourself. To Mika, this was a totally new feeling and she didn't know if she liked it or not.
Well, so much for listening to music, she mused, giving the Cd's a sympathetic glance. With that, she picked up the book from the nightstand and sat down on the sofa. Reading was a very good distraction form thinking too much and she didn't want to think at all right now.
