Akemi wandered through the streets on a warm Saturday afternoon. It was a fabulous day to do many things, but Akemi had her sights set already. Her iron grey eyes flicked from shop sign to shop sign, searching for what she needed so desperately.
Despite her jean's many holes, Akemi's legs were sweating from the unusual heat. There just wasn't any and breeze. Even her top half, which only wore a simple grey tank top, was frying. Akemi had even worn a hat to keep the heat off her blonde head, and she wore it backwards (of course). Her metal earrings glinted in the harsh sunlight, as did the thick metal bracelet on Akemi's right wrist.
Suddenly, Akemi's eyes spotted its target: the Ice Cream Parlor. Akemi smiled and walked into the cool shop. She requested her cone with her single scoop of ice cream, placed the needed yen on the counter, and walked out once again onto the hot pavement of the sidewalk. With a sigh of joy, Akemi licked her ice cream cone and continued walking through the town. Oh yes, this was heaven.

Jun hated walking. If he hadn't crashed his car, he wouldn't have had to walk to town to buy his stack of junk foods and cigarette supply. He was running low on nicotine, it had been a month since he last smoked.
Blame it on the caring mother who discovered how much he was spending on cigarettes and decided to assign secret agents to prevent him from buying. He wondered why suddenly all his packs disappeared from his bag and his dorm room, and whenever he bought a new pack, he was all too quick to lose it. Jun was smart enough to figure out who was behind all this, and had the sense to stop smoking for a month, according to his mother's wishes.
But a month has passed, and he was back on nicotine again. Jun satisfactorily carried his grocery bag containing random stuff and cigarettes. But the load was heavy and his thoughts returned to his car, under extensive repair because of the drunk driver.
Jun continued walking, unmindful of the heat, and when a familiar face came upon him, he grinned and gave a small salute to a girl from school. She was holding an ice cream cone and wearing a hat, sporting metal bracelets and earrings. Jun obviously approved of her preference for holed jeans, for he was wearing one himself.

"Yo," Akemi greeted the vaguely familiar face, "Nice outfit. You from school, right?" she asked, genuinely interested. They had only passed by each other a few times, but he had caught her eye, unlike many of the other guys she had seen at the school.
"Why are you shopping for so much without a car?" Akemi inquired. Such a large bag. Surely he should have transportation...?

"Jun Seido," he immediately introduced himself and tried to hold out his hand but found that he couldn't.
"I would've shook hands, but hands are a bit full here, so, pardon me," he explained, referring to the grocery bag. His eyes stared longingly at a cigarette pack on top of the pile of goods in the bag, wishing he could put it down and light a stick. But Jun never liked smoking infront of people, except for a few occasions where his subconscious gets the better of him and he couldn't help it.
"Unfortunately, I crashed my car yesterday, some drunk driver ran me off the road. I'd rather pay for car repair than pay for the hospital bills of some unfortunate pedestrian." he replied to her question and he became aware of the heaviness of his load once again.
Yesterday was a disaster, but Jun was lucky enough to avoid the pedestrian he was about to hit when he almost lost control of the wheel. Thankful that the person was wearing a neon green shirt, Jun was able to see him and turn to the opposite direction. He hit the tree on an island, but Jun didn't suffer a scratch.

"Name's Akemi Rakurai. I don't blame you... that's a heavy load. I wouldn't want to try shaking hands either," Akemi said with a broad smile.
"OH! You broke a car?" Akemi said, her grey eyes lighting up, "Can I fix it? I'll do my best not to ruin it! Please?" she begged, not wanting to miss this chance. Akemi had an obsession with fixing things (although that might be putting it too mildly).
Cold ran down Akemi's fingers. Shocked, Akemi looked to see her ice cream had melted and was beggining to drip. Akemi attacked her cone, in an attempt to stop the dripping. Luckily, she was successful.

Jun's smile turned a little apprehensive. Even if he did crash his car 'on purpose', he wouldn't trust anyone but the best mechanics in the city to fix it. However, he was surprised at how quickly Akemi offered to fix his ride. She must be knowing what she's saying ore else she wouldn't have offered it. Jun decided to investigate.
"Fix my car?" Jun asked, watching amusedly as Akemi successfully stopped the ice cream from dripping. "And you say you can do it?"

" 'Course I can," Akemi said proudly, "I've helped Pop in his autoshop for years. I'm more use in the shop than all my brothers combined. Admittedly I'm older, but still."
"Whew, good thing I don't get brain freezes easily," Akemi sighed, having eaten her ice cream down to the cone. She began to gingerly eat the cone itself, trying not to have the thing fall apart in her hands.

Now that's nice. Jun thought, impressed. He himself knew just a little about cars, enought to get him driving around the city without mishaps.
"Must be cool, knowing a lot about cars," he commented, shifting the weight of the grocery bag to the left. It was getting heavier, he noticed, and the heat was getting worse. Jun wished he had some ice cream, but obviously he couldn't. He simply tried to resist the temptation to throw the bag on the nearest trash bin and buy an ice cream himself.

"I suppose it is. But since I've always been good with machines, it really isn't special for me," Akemi said, "Would you like some help with that?" she asked, looking at the large bag. She stuck her free hand into her pocket and pulled out a crunched up plastic bag. With a swift shake the bag was open, and Akemi held it forward. As there was only one bag, Akemi couldn't really help carry his load, but two bags would make it possible.

Jun watched amusedly as Akemi pulled out a plastic bag from her jeans pocket and shook it open. Jun obliged, the bag was definitely heavy for someone like him who doesn't do the grocery without a car. He loaded packs of his favorite brand of cigarettes on to Akemi's bag, placing them at the bottom so he wouldn't be able to dig them up until he reached his room. After loading some of the light-weight items into the plastic bag, Jun couldn't help but comment.
"Do you always come with a plastic bag whereever you go?" he asked, smiling. "But thanks a lot, really." he added immediately. He crunched up his shoulder for a while, relief coming to them and to his arms.
