Yasuo groaned, staring at the crowded sidewalk. Too many people pushing past each other, smiling and greetings others. It had been a while since Yasuo had shown his face out in society, other than the boarding school. He didn't like very lively and crowded places.
But, right now, he had no choice.
His watch (recently bought, by the way) had just ran out of battery. Yasuo was irritated that the watch he had just bought was now already broken. So he had to go down to the store (whichever one he got it from, he didn't really care to remember) and ask for it to be fixed. Then he would have to pay the fine for getting the battery replaced, etc. Yasuo huffed.
He shouldered his way through most of the crowd, not caring if he bumped into them or not. Some yelled at him, while others tried to lecture him. He just kept walking.
But soon he found himself suddenly stopping. He looked down at a small girl, maybe four or five years of age. He had almost tripped right over her. She smiled innocently at him.
"Hi mister!" she yelled. Yasuo twitched; she was too giddy for him. He nodded in response and stepped around her, returning to walking down the sidewalk.
"What store was it now?" Yasuo asked himself, peering through some of the windows of the many shops on the street. He sighed, taking a look at his watch..
And suddenly remembered it was broken. He smacked himself on the forehead.

Tomomi walked past crowds of people in search of a good place to find snacks for her dorm. She liked the food at the cafeteria, but you couldn't bring it up to your dorm, so she had a list of snacks to get. Tomomi recited them to herself, so not to forget them at the register, "Cheese doodles, crackers, peanut-butter, cheese doodles, crackers, peanut-butter, etc..." She looked up, still walking and saw a familiar face. It was Yasuo, but he looked kind of stressed. She cried out, "Yasuo!" Tomomi started walking through the enormous crowds to him.

Yasuo looked up, staring through the crowd. And immediately, that pink hair seemed to glow bright in the mass of people. Yasuo couldn't help but chuckle. It was like a light in the dark. A really, really bright light.
"Tomomi," Yasuo murmured, as he placed his broken watch in his pocket. He pushed passed a few people, making his towards his friend.
"Hey," he nodded to Tomomi as he reached her, flashing a small, quick smile.

"Hi!" Tomomi smiled at Yasuo once she reached him and spoke, "So, are you shopping too? I'm getting snacks for my dorm." Tomomi kept thinking, 'Cheese doodles, crackers, peanut-butter, cheese doodles, crackers, peanut-butter...' Then she spoke aloud, "I learned the hard way that you are not allowed to bring cafeteria food up to your dorm, hehe."

Yasuo smirked, nodding. He too had learned the rule of no cafeteria food in the dorms. Luckily, it had been a student that informed him as he walked up the staircase, rather than a teacher.
"Mm...yeah, I'm going to have to remember to grab some snacks for myself as well." Yasuo made a mental note to himself. Cheese-sticks, cookies, jelly. Cheese-sticks, cookies, jelly...
"And, er, I'm not actually shopping. I'm here to get my watch fixed." Yasuo pulled out the watch from his pocket, showing Tomomi that the hand no longer moved.
"Think it needs new batteries or something..."

Tomomi looked at the watch. She could tell that one hand had stopped moving. She smiled looking up at Yasuo in an expectant way, "I don't know. If it needs batteries, I'm betting a place that has snacks will have batteries too. Like a mini-mart or something." Tomomi glance at the watch again, then at Yasuo, "At least it looks nice."

"Hm, thanks," Yasuo muttered, stuffing the watch back into his pocket. He sighed, ruffling his hair absentmindedly, looking at the shop windows. Some kind of mini-mart? He groaned, rubbing his tired eyes. They were beginning to itch from all the strain he had caused on them from squinting to see shops and into some of the alleys.
"Well, I'm hoping you know exactly where you were headed because," Yasuo chuckled, shrugging, "I have absolutely no idea of where to go. I, uh...don't get out here much, so.."

Tomomi looked down, "Uh, this is my first time downtown...hehe..." She thought for a moment and then spoke again, "But, we can try to find some place? There's bound to be a snack shop nearby that also sells batteries, don't you think?"

Kayoko's part-time job was working at a cafe, with it, she got a free cute uniform. ((Think 'Tokyo Mew Mew'!)) Kayoko was cleaning off tables, when she noticed Tomomi and Yasuo outside of the cafe. She asked,"Sensai, may I invite my friends in here? I will pay for them myself!" The boss smiled. "Sure, Kayoko-chan." Kayoko smiled. "Thank you so much!" Kayoko noticed their faces, Tomomi looked pretty cheerful, and Yasuo looked stressed. She looked as Yasuo pulled out to show Tomomi something, a watch! 'It's not moving, so it must be broken..' Kayoko thought, as she searched her tiny purse. She found some batteries! Kayoko opened the door. "Hi, Tomomi-san, Yasuo-san! I am so sorry, but I easedropped, and I think you could stay in the cafe for a while if you wanted to.." Kayoko ajusted her little headdress, walked to Tomomi and Yasuo, and gave Yasuo the batteries. "I found them, I don't know if they will work or not..But you should still please give it a try!" Kayoko bowed, then laughed as her headdress fell off, so she put it back on. "Will you please come inside?"

Yasuo blinked at the suddenly-appearing Kayoko who also had batteries (watch batteries to be exact) on hand. Quite unexpected, but not unappreciated.
"Oh, uh..thanks." Yasuo looked at his watch, scratching his head. He would now need a screwdriver. Sighing, he stuffed both the watch and the battery into his pocket. He could insert it and reset the watch later.
Nice little cafe, Yasuo thought as he looked inside through the window. Looked elegant but comfy enough.
