It was at that moment that she entered, brown suitcase in hand and confidence in her step. Camilla Macaulay stepped through the doors of the school, her head bowed carelessly and her lips moving as she mumbled to herself. With a white sun dress with a sailor collar all topped with a straw hat, she was definitely new and from out-of-town. After the doors were shut, Camilla turned on her heel and turned briskly around. Once her head lifted, her milky face was revealed from under the hats' shadow. Heavy dark blonde hair, cut short in a "rather boyish manner" as her mother often said, framed her face and large, clear grey eyes surveyed the room.
To her surprise, other people were in the room with her. Her lips parted in surprise but she quickly gathered herself. "Hello. I am Camilla Macaulay. Pleasure to meet you." Her smile was sweet and quite impersonal as if the others were a waiter or store clerk. Camilla paused for a moment to take in her surroundings before bringing her eyes back to the four students. One of the boys was listening to music so loud she wondered if he would become deaf, another boy had his hands outstretched toward the two girls for whatever reason. She just figured it wasn't anything too important, at least to her anyway.
Lifting her chin a fraction into the air, Camilla switched her suitcase into her other hand and moved a stray hair from her eyes. "Is this a marvelous day! A bit nippier than home, but the sun makes up for it by far." Her eyes drifted to one of the large windows scattered across the Foyer and a small smile lifted her lips. She supposed that if nearly everyday were like this, she would be satisfied. "So, can any one of you point me to the---Kurenai dorms?" She asked, making sure she pronounced the name correctly.

Mika grinned at Kayoko, still a little embarrassed. In truth, her phobia was a little limited. She was terrified of bugs, but she also had the obsession of killing them when she saw one. That was actually what had caused all the mess, but she refrained from telling them that. It was a little personal. She eyed Yasuo curiously. "We all have our fears, you know," she said and handed him a few papers and a case full of pens. She had said it with a dreamy, almost out-of-space expression, but it had a hidden meaning. Her genuine appearance clearly said to someone who knew her that if they'll laugh at her, she'd find their own fears and rip them into pieces as soon as they gave her the occasion. But this time, she didn't even think twice about saying it. They didn't know her. Not yet, at least. She smiled at him and sincerely hoped she hadn't given him too many things. Just then, someone else entered. A girl in a sun dress and a hat. Her first thought was that this girl was utterly ridiculous. Who did she think she was, walking so... so... Like she owned the place or something? She found this kind of people highly amusing. Especially hurting them. The girl's impersonal smile was a sweet drink poisoned with cruelty for Mika's rather sensible and much simpler nature. She disliked the girl immediately. The way she presented herself as Camilla Macaulay was much more cutting than necessary. Her name sounded English, she observed. Her eyes narrowed slightly at her self-satisfied smile, but she kept her cool and smiled slightly colder than usual. "Hey, I'm Mika," she introduced herself. "I'm one of the Daaku Student Advisor's, I think I could help you with the dorm's location. But first, I'd have to leave all this in my own dorm," Mika nodded towards her stuff. She spoke formally and slightly colder than usual. Her way to deal with strangers was much warmer and sensible, but the girl had switched on an alarm in her head so she kept herself cool and distant.

Camilla watched the exchange of objects passively. She didn't show any recognition of her hearing the girls' words, which in fact made her wonder what she had walked in on. However, her outward appearance was that of a bored, uninterested teenager, but her insides were twisting with excitement. As much as she hated to admit it, Camilla was absolutely thrilled to be in Japan, to be in a school filled with people she did not know, and to also be closer to her favorite aunt, but that goes without saying.
A certain level of hostility radiated from the girl who introduced herself as Mika. Apparently the girl was a Daaku Student Advisor, whatever a "Daaku" was. Camilla made a mental note to start reading that Japanese language booklet that her aunt had sent her. However, no matter the level of hostility, the girl still offered to show Mika the way to her dorms, and that caused Camilla to set the goal of becoming this girls' friend. Not to mention the fact that she was terribly glad to have found someone who spoke English.
"Nice to meet you Mika. That would be perfect, thank you very much," Camilla said, jovially, her soft southern accent adding a particular lilt to her words. "I am just glad that I found someone to whom I can speak to. In English, I mean. I don't know a word of Japanese, which is ironic, don't you think?" Camilla regarded Mika with a raised eyebrow for a moment before switching her gaze to the high-vaulted ceiling. This all seemed like it would grow on her in time.

Kayoko smiled, most people here did know Japanese, Kayoko knew most of it.. "I'll take it all to your dorm room, while you show...Um, sorry for asking, but what is your name, Miss?" Kayoko said while trying to reach one of many smudges on her face off.

Tiny clicking noises could be heard as Tsukiko slid her small fingers across the camera control pad. Trees in the orchard....some green house plants....students on campus in the distance.....these pictures were so plain. She needed some pictures of new people, with bright and exciting feeling. Someting that would be truly memorable, a perpetual image, a thing that one could play over and over in their mind and always have a sense of joy from it. She sighed and pushed her hand through the camera strap, letting it hang loosely off. Tsukiko's eyes wandered across the foyer floor, suddenly interested in the glossy covering as it moved beneath her feet. She hadn't seen many people lately, all because of her own scheduale. *So much to do in so little time...*, she thought. Curls of colored hair draped over her shoulders as her head remained fixed at the floor. She brushed it back, irritated by the sudden movement. Brown highlighted eyes swirled in thought, giving a misty expression. *...maybe I am sort of lonely....* Her mind was blocked out as an unprepared for collision occured, right into the back of a student. Tsukiko stumbled back and held her head in confusion. She took a moment to get it together, before the realization hit. "I am so sorry! Are you okay?!" Tsukiko stood up straigt, ready for a reply.

Kayoko thought she heard something, and was correct. Kayoko fell and accidently fell forward in shock. Of course, she dropped all of the books she was holding. Kayoko blinked a couple times and smiled. "I'm fine! Thank you, though." With closer inspection, it was Tsukiko! But, Kayoko's right leg throbbed slightly, not helping her collect the now dirty books she dropped. "Hello Tsukiko-san! ...How are you?" Kayoko said smiling, in slight pain.

It was there. That same cold voice Yasuo used when he spoke with people he did not care for. Surprisingly, it had come from Mika. Yasuo couldn't help but grin broadly. There was something more to these people...
"Yes," Yasuo whispered in his own silent voice. "We all have our fears...but not all things are meant to be feared." Chuckling, he took the things Mika handed to him.
The new girl, Camilla she called herself, spoke with Mika. Yasuo shook his head as those two spoke. "I can't pronounce any words in Japanese correctly," Yasuo said, giving a small laugh. "Don't feel too bad."
And then Kayoko dropped the books. Yasuo blinked and looked behind her, spotting Tsukiko. He smiled. And though he would've liked to help Kayoko, his hands were nearly full with Mika's things. "Er...here."
Stuffing the papers underneath his arm, Yasuo squatted down and began helping Kayoko with the books. He stood and held out all the books he had been able to gather.
"Oh, and welcome...Camilla. I'm in Kurenai as well, so I hope to see you around," Yasuo said in his best friendly voice. He winked at Tsukiko and mouthed, 'I've been practicing.'

Kayoko smiled slightly. "It's okay! I can gather them.." Kayoko offered as she saw Yasou pick up Mika's books. Kayoko leaned forward and winced. "Really! I must take these back to her dorm!" Kayoko turned her head a little to talk to Tsukiko. "Hello, Tsukiko-san!" Kayoko said smiling.

Tsukiko put on a knowing smile and winked back, mouthing "I can tell." She crouched down and picked up some of the scattered papers and books that were strewn across the ground. She put on a worried face and asked, "Are you hurt Kayoko-san? You're limping." A look of guilt replaced it. "It's all my fault! I should have watched where I was going! That was so ignorant!" Her free hand balled into a fist and softly hit the ground, in anger at herself. Tsukiko didn't like to hurt people, as she was always afraid of their reactions. She had rarely been yelled at in her life and couldn't help but be careful of her actions when in public. Tsukiko flushed and turned slightly red in embarrased anger.

Mika was slightly surprised by the girl's English. It had taken her almost all summer to get over her Russian accent and to learn some Japanese, but then she found out she was a native speaker of the language, so she shrugged it off. "No problem," she answered in a bored manner. "In fact, I'm half Russian so it is rather strange for me to speak English. Japanese is somewhat new to me, too," she said distractedly, answering at the others' statements as well. What distracted her was Yasuo. His words were silent, but she had heard him. She didn't knew if she should answer now, since it would certainly attract attention, so she reserved it for later, when a distraction issued. That didn't disappoint her either, as Tsukiko stumbled across Kayoko, both girls falling as a result. Mika, otherwise, avoided the mess carefully. She grinned. Ballet and dance classes were useful when it came to that. "Things aren't meant to be feared, it is our ignorance that creates foolish revulsion or intimidation," she whispered close to Yasuo. She had avoided the mess, yes, but she did it in such a way, she was now very close to Yasuo an could practically feel his body next to hers. She was sure the exchange went unnoticed as everybody had their eyes on Kayoko and Tsukiko. "Are you alright?" Mika quickly said, juggling her own messy papers and helping Kayoko with some of the one fallen. She grinned at Tsukiko and nodded a greeting. "It's fine, Tsukiko, don't worry," she added at the girl's out burst. "It wasn't your fault, I'm a bigger klutz than that. Who's fault do you think is all this?" She again motioned for the papers in her, Yasuo's and Kayoko's arms. "Kayoko, Yasuo, if you want... can you help me take these to my room? And Camilla, come with us. I'll show you the Kurenai dormitories after I put this where it belongs," she smiled a warm, fake smile at them all. A smile with a true edge, but edges don't count in smiles. Edges count in madness, but never in smiles.
