Tsukiko walked into the huge room called a cafeteria. Surprisingly it was her first time eating at Tama. She had been living off of snacks brought from home until now. She walked over to the cashier. "What would you like hun?" Tsukiko decided to start with something simple. "I'll just have a tuna sandwich mamn..." "All right here you go." Tsukiko slid a dollar across the counter and grasped the sandwich. She stepped towards the table and sat down silently, footsteps echoing through the room. Would anybody come in sometime soon?

His footsteps bounced off the walls as he entered the cafeteria. He cursed under his breath: this wasn't the dorm either. How many rooms did this accursed school have?
Yasuo stepped further into the cafeteria. He sighed, reaching into his pocket. "Might as well grab something to eat while I'm here, I guess..." He fished deep inside his pocket, switching to his other when he found nothing in the first. He grunted when he discovered he was broke. "I wasn't that hungry anyway."
Ready to leave, Yasuo halted when he heard footsteps. And then silence...it was like heaven to Yasuo. No sound, no noise, no accursed ringing in the ears. It was deadly still, and Yasuo tried to enjoy every minute of it.
But his curiosity overwhelmed him. Who was the owner of those footsteps? Turning around, Yasuo made his way around the vending machine. The sight of Tsukiko sitting at a table made Yasuo grin. But the sight of Tsukiko sitting at a table alone made Yasuo frown.
He ambled over to her silently, sitting down and blinking. It was his trademark to look at someone before he actually started talking.
"Hey...why alone, Tsukiko?" he asked in his quiet voice, his eyes soft and curious.

"Ummm......oh hi!" She mentally slapped her self for acting so stupid. Her hands set down the tuna sanwich, which only had one set of tooth marks set into it. "Well.....Tomomi had to help Mika get accustomed to her new dorm and Kayoko is setting up an area for her pets. Akemi is well.....somewhere and I was hungry so I decided to see if the cafeteria food wasn't rank like at my old school. What brings you here?" Why was he here is it wasn't for eating?

Yasuo nodded as Tsukiko counted off the people who all seemed to be busy. He sighed and eyed Tsukiko. He tilted his head, looking at her from three different angles.
"Mm...I was just getting to know the school, I guess." Yasuo shrugged, looking around the cafeteria. "Quite a large building...might take me a while to fully memorize every turn of this place."
There was silence...and though Yasuo enjoyed silence, this wasn't the type of silence he enjoyed. It was that awkward silence you get when someone doesn't know how to keep the conversation flowing. Yasuo desperately came up with something to say.
"...uh, is that tuna sandwich good?" Yasuo inquired, blinking at the sandwich laid on the table.

Tsukiko blinked and slowly replayed his question in her head. That was a little random.... "I guess so. It's definitely better than the bile they serve at my old school. You don't want to see their food." She paused and pondered a new question that popped up in her mind. Should she ask it? It might be a little two personal....but it was too late. Her other thoughts won and she blurted it out. "Do you have any new friends around here?" She covered her mouth in embarrasment. That was perhaps....too rude.

Yasuo tilted his head, watching Tsukiko. A few moments passed as Yasuo digested this question. And then, he chuckled.
"No, I haven't." Yasuo sighed, looking away. "Why? Am I bothering you? I'm sorry..." He spun himself around, facing away from Tsukiko.
"I can leave if you want me to," he murmured over his shoulder, his shoulders now hunched. "I suppose it is a little weird for me to sit here while you eat," he reflected, sighing once more.

"No don't go! It's nice eating with someone. Your not bothering me at all." Tsukiko looked down and thought about what to say. Yasuo-san seemed so lonely with no friends yet. And she already had Tomomi, Kayoko, Akemi, and possibly the new girl Mika. She deepened into her jumbled inquiries. He seemed pretty friendly with her.....and that was enough. ".....how about I'll be your first friend of the year. Are you okay with that?" She held out an unsure hand.

Yasuo refrained from gasping. He hesitantly turned around to stare at Tsukiko and her extended hand. A smile crept onto Yasuo's face as he turned around and grasped Tsukiko's hand. He shook it firmly.
"That'll be...cool," he chuckled. For some reason, he couldn't stop himself from shaking her hand. He pulled himself away, smirking to keep his outside continue to retain its "cool" look. Inside, he wasn't sure of anything at the moment. He just felt he had to shake that hand.
And the more he thought about Tsukiko, the more Yasuo smiled. Inside, he was quietly laughing. She must've not known that I already considered her a friend...oh well. An official sealing of the deal can only make things better.
Yasuo sighed, looking down. "...thanks," he croaked.

"No problem......but you realize that you'll probably have all my louder friends around you more often now. Friends tend to hang in gangs. Maybe you should try to get some guy friends so you won't be stuck with just a bunch of females." She laughed and placed her still warm hand on the tuna. Tsukiko lifted it and took another bite. It really was better than her old school food. She set it back down. "Unless you really just want to hang out with a bunch of girls all the time!" She smirked and stared waiting for his reply. Inside her mind she gasped. That was so unlike her!

Kayoko just bought a riceball and looked around. All the tables were practically full.. Exept one, that had Tomomi's friend, and a boy. Kayoko walked over and asked politely, "May I sit here? Is that okay with you both?"
