Tomomi saw Kayoko's eyes close and her breath stop. Tomomi's tears turned into sad ones and she shook her head and pushed the ladel to Kayoko's mouth, even thought she knew that it was usless. "No!" She cried, "You've got to keep trying!!! Kayoko!" Tomomi bit her lip and coughed as she cried, trying to stop. Tomomi turned over to Yasuo and sniffed, "Yasuo...(Sniff)...!!!" Tomomi thought of something. She knew it was unrealistic, fantasy-type, and totally out of the question, but since there wasn't any time to get Kayoko to a hospital, and if it didn't heal her, then maybe boost her spirits, then it still could be done. Tomomi then thought, Yasuo would have to agree to it. "Yasuo....Ya' know...How in fairy tales the prince kisses the princess to revive her." Tomomi looked at him, almost embarrassly, "(Cough) Hehe...Um...And I know there is something going on between you and Kayoko anyway! So..." Tomomi wasn't going to say anymore. It was pretty obvious what she would say. Yeah, she was a little kid still, believing that possibly something could happen from a single kiss, but maybe in fairy tales, princesses were not healed, maybe a single kiss could give them energy to heal themselves. Tomomi looked at him with the most serious look she had ever given someone, "Please...For Kayoko's sake?"

Yasuo let all the information sink in. He blinked and ran it through his head again. And again. And again. Each moment he processed the information, the closer Kayoko was to the empty halls of death. And Yasuo knew that feeling - it was not one that was experienced without some sort of marking..inside or out.
One second. Yasuo's eyes darted to Kayoko's face, her closed eyes and her slightly gaping mouth. Two seconds. There was no breathing, and her stomach was no longer moving with the air that should've been entering. Three seconds... "Fairy tales..but I'm not a prince.." Four seconds.. "I've always hated fairy tales," Yasuo sighed. And he carefully lifted Kayoko's head into his arms, looked at her. Five seconds. And in the next two, he closed the gap between them. "Always hated those stories..." he managed to mutter before he lightly pressed his lips to hers. He held for moment...two and then two more. Yasuo then disengaged, pulling back.

Tomomi crossed her fingers, all of them in the best way she could. She bit her lips as she watched Yasuo kiss Kayoko lightly. If it had not been a dire situation, Tomomi would have snapped at Yasuo for complaining, she only whispered, "C'mon Kayoko. You can do it...Think about what you would leave behind...Yasuo, your family, Jun...Me...Please..." Tomomi's fingers tightened as they crossed and within her shoes, Tomomi crossed her toes as well. Her heart pounded like crazy, and she knew it would only end when this ended too, either in failure or victory.

Kayoko was in a black room...Nothing in it. She felt something warm on her lips giving her air... '...Uhh...Am I dead?...No I'm not. I hear something...Tomomi's voice...' "C'mon Kayoko. You can do it...Think about what you would leave behind...Yasuo, your family, Jun...Me...Please..." Kayoko felt the dark room shake, and before she knew it, her eyes opened. Yasuo!? She felt herself heat to a hot blush and swallow the meat stew Tomomi put in her mouth. Her cramp stopped and she looked at Yasuo. 'Thank you...Both of you...'

Tomomi gasped with hope as Kayoko opened her eyes. Tomomi heard a slight swallow so Kayoko must have swallowed the meat stew. "Kayoko!" Tomomi cried, with tears exploding from her eyes. She put a her hand on Kayoko's forehead, "Oh, Kayoko!" Tomomi smiled and hugged Kayoko the best she could with her one arm, "Never scare us like that again!" She said, hugging Kayoko with tears flowing on Kayoko's shoulder. Tomomi let go and sniffed, giving Yasuo a turn to say something and Kayoko time to grasp in all the things going on.

Yasuo retained the usual air of silence. He just stared at Kayoko, gazing into her eyes and studying her face. Moments passed, and Yasuo was unsure how long it truly was that he simply stared. Then the realization that Kayoko had opened her eyes hit Yasuo, and he gave her a small smile.
"Welcome back. Thought we almost lost you," he said cooly, but his eyes held a new sort of twinkle in them. Yasuo then hugged Kayoko gently, before setting her back down and standing up. "Can you stand?"

Kayoko's face was very red. "Yes, I think so. Thank you, both of you. I really don't know where I'd be right now if it wasn't for you guys..." In her head Kayoko was debating whether that counted as a first kiss, but it seemed Kayoko thought it was C.P.R., and that didn't count...Did it? Kayoko looked at Tomomi and smiled. "I won't, I promise."

Tomomi smiled, "It's a promise." Tomomi thought for a moment and then asked, "I've been too afraid to try the meat stew here. How's it taste?"

Kayoko looked like this: ' She coughed a little and smiled. "I don't think it would really be something you'd like, it tastes like bad sushi."

Tomomi closed her eyes and nodded, "I thought so."
