Mika yawned and stretched like a cat in the comfortable chintz chair she was currently sitting. It was Sunday and it was raining. She had no homework and had already soaked herself in the rain while hunting Iko down. The wretched cat had escaped her room again and Mika had spent the whole morning trying to find it.
The library was a really cosy place to be in such days. Mika pushed some partially wet hair out of her eyes. The room smelled of dust and old and knowledge. It was a very comforting scent, she observed.
She sat cross-legged on the chair now and grabbed a book from the pile she had gathered on the table in front of her. It was a fairy-tale. The brunette smiled and started reading the book, rejoicing in the familiarity and warmness of the surroundings.

"You must have been really bored to go out in the rain and get yourself soaked, or at least that's what I'm guessing you did." Yonutsune interrupted Mika's silent reading and looked her up and down. "What happened to you anyway?"

"Why hello to you, too," the brunette answered, slightly annoyed. She was getting to the interesting part in the story she was reading and the look Yonutssune was giving her only annoyed her further.
Now that she thought about it, did she really look all that bad? Despise herself, Mika looked down. Well... the girl was sort of right. Her shoes were muddy along with her jeans and the shirt she was wearing was a little wet, adorned with a few rips on the sleeves, courtesy of Iko. Besides, her hair was soaked and messy. She probably did look awful.
Mika bit her lip. No, she wasn't bored. And yes, she would have soaked herself in the rain even if it weren't for her troublesome cat. She put her book down on the table and turned back to Mei.
"I wasn't bored. I love reading and rainy days... I just thought of combining the two," she finally said, looking at the book from the corner of her eye. "What about you? What brings you here?"

Yonutsune noted the annoyed look that crossed Mika's face. 'It was rude of me to interrupt her reading without even saying hello.' "I got kind of bored, so I figured I'd find a book or two to read. I'm sorry, it was rude of me to interrupt you like that. I suppose I'll leave you alone now, so you can finish reading." So, Yonutsune began to walk away.

"Hey, no! Stay!" the brunette immediately jumped. "You didn't bother me, it's just that... I'm a tad jumpy right now," she said, catching up with Mei.
Mika really couldn't say why she had been this irritable, she wasn't like that on a daily basis. Maybe it was just because of the kitten getting lost again. She shrugged it off, not wanting to think about any of that right now.
"What books are you looking for, anyway?"

"Nothing in particular." Yonutsune replied, relieved that she hadn't made Mika too angry. Then, she remembered just what she'd approached Mika for. "Hey, are you the one who owns that white cat? Because I found it sneaking around in the boys restrooms. Don't ask me why I was in there. But anyway, is it yours?" Yonutsune asked curiously.

"Yeah, the sneaky brat is mine. He did all this to me, but now I got my revenge and he's in my room, in his travelling cage," the brunette said, cheerfully. She adored the cat. No matter how annoying, troublesome and painful it got, she still cared for Iko. She grinned at Mei. "So you've met Iko, huh?"

"Uh...something like that." Yonutsune let a blunt expression come across her face as she recalled how the cat had bit her hand as she tried to approach and then it ran out. 'And to think animals usually aren't vicious with me.' She thought as she pushed her bitten hand deeper into her pocket. "Interesting cat, it is." Yonutsune said with a nervous chuckle.

"Yeah... Iko's cute, but not when it's raining," she said, looking at Mei curiously. Mika adored rain and was to be found outside every time it would pour, but the kitty was awfully scared by water. Mika knew it was in their nature, but Koto didn't exaggerate it so much. She shook it off after wondering a bit, thinking it wasn't the time or the moment to think about it. "I'm soaked to the bone and you're bored," the brunette said in a flat voice. "Why don't we go to the cafeteria and get some tea? Or hot chocolate?" Mika suggested, thinking that that way, the time would pass in a more pleasant manner. She loved to read, but now that Mei had come, she really didn't want to go back to it. And besides, that way they’d be both entertained.

"It's not like I have anything better to do." Yonutsune said in a bored tone, then she grinned. "Please excuse my bad attitude. I don't exactly have much self control, so you may see a few mood swings. I hope I don't bother you." It was in her best interest to keep herself under control but at tims she just didn't care at all.
