Kayoko was, again, helping someone in need. Twelve people in need actually. They wanted her to get some sodas with her money, and they said they'd pay her back. ...And a promise is a promise, right? (in short terms, she's being taken advantange of) So Kayoko was carrying a bag full of twelve sodas, and noticed a new person and Yasuo. She waved and walked over to them. "Hello Yasuo-san! Hello New Student-san!", She chirped happily.

Kohana smiled slightly as he mentioned some-what hearing of New Mexico. 'There wasn't much to it,' she thought.Thinking back home she remember the weather she had been in for the most of her life, dry heat, sweltering sun, and the sparse rain. She had only been in this country for a two weeks, it was too different for her liking.
She wanted to be comfortable around this guy but it was a little difficult for her. It seem he had some areas that he would rather not discuss. She also noticed she seemed to be hitting those topics every time she opened her mouth. She tried to think of some witty thing to say that wouldn't offend Yasuo but came up short.
Finally it was him that broke the silence. She grinned thinking immediately of a smart replied but stopped herself from saying it. People over here seemed to be more polite and he was probably just following suit. "I'm sixteen. May I ask the same in return from you?"
She then was noticed the girl caring a bag walking down the hall. Most people had just walked on by but she seemed to be looking straight at them. Then she walked over to them. Kohana blushed at it being so obvious she was new. Student-San? What in the world did the girl add San on for to both their names for that matter?
Kohana put on a friendly smile for the girl. "Hello," she replied simply.

Kayoko smiled. "Nice to meet you! I see you've met Yasuo-san! I am Kayoko, what's your name?"

"Pleasure to meet you as well. My name is Kohana. Yes I have met him, he's being kind enough to show me to the dorms." She would have offered her hand but seeing as the other girl was caring a bag it didn't seem right for the moment. "If you don't mind me asking why did you add San on to our names."

Kayoko looked at Kohana weirdly, then gasped and smiled. She must be new to Japan!...Then again, Kayoko came from America, but she picked up Japanese customs quickly. "'San' is a respectful term the Japanese put onto their friends or relatives names, Kohana-san."

Kohana became nervous when the girl gave her the weird look. She wished she would have paid better attention when her dad was telling her the costumes around here. Well it was better to figure it out now than never. "Oh okay then, thank you Kayoko-San.That is defiantly something that is nice to know."
Kohana thought about how Yasuo had not use that term. Maybe he was just being nice and did not wish to become friends? She shrugged it off. "If you're going anywhere near where we are going I can help you carry some of that stuff. If it won't be too much of a problem Yasuo?" She put he shoulder strap of her bag in a way that she really didn't need her hands to carry it.

Kayoko's eyes widened, did Kohana think she was too polite? "OhmygoshIamsosorryifI'mtoopolitereally!", She said quickly.

Kohana grinned, she could get use to being around this girl. "No it's alright really. It's something I'm just not use to thats all. Really I could probably take some cues from you on stuff like that. Is there any other thing like that I should know?"
Kohana thought about the books she had read about how 'rude' Americans were. She would definately have to pick up some manners if she were to fit in with these two.

Kayoko shook her head. "No! I'm so so sorry if I made you think you were unintelligent! You're very smart! And if it makes you feel any better I'm from America! I just picked that stuff up from books! Really!"

"No really you're okay. You didn't make me think I was dumb. That's really cool that you took the time to learn this stuff from books. I had my dad there to teach me all this stuff but I never thought I would need it. So I never took the time. " She paused from her rambleing for a moment.
"Wait did you say you were from America?! Oh that's so cool! Here I thought that I would be the only one here that wasn't pure Japanese! No offence to any one that is but That makes me feel so much better!I thought I would stick out like a sore thumb! Where are you from?"
Kohana seemed to have a new energy about her. Now she was all smiles and animated useing her hands as she spoke.
