Kayoko smiled. "Yes, my mother died.." She looked down. "From an unknown sickness.." She looked up and smiled cheerily. "But you live some, you loose some! That's life!"

Tomomi crossed her arms, "Well, karma made a mistake, cuz I don't know of anything you've done bad lately!" She looked up to the ceiling and called out humorously, "Yo, karma! I think you and I need to have a little chat!" Tomomi looked at Kayoko and smiled slightly, "I hope karma's in that direction."

Kayoko laughed, first time in the entire day. She smiled. "Well, thanks for brightening up the day!" Kayoko was about to walk to next period, when she turned around to face Tomomi. "Are you coming? This period is over, and I want to share the next with one of my best friends."

Tomomi's smile grew brighter, "Absolutely! And then is my favorite school period, and my best. Lunch!" She strutted over to Kayoko's side, proud that she had been able to make Kayoko happy in a time of massive sadness.
