Tomomi heard him mutter and widened her eyes, "That can't be true. Cuz, you just made me happier just listening to the music." She turned around, "By sweet I mean...hm...like cool but also dear to the heart. Not like mushy stuff just, calming, refreshing music that you can feel vibrations in the heart from the music it was so good." Tomomi turned around, "Like you just did. And you know what?" She stood and put her hands to her hips, "Stop being sooooo negative. You sound like a mix of a whiner and a dark, evil dude. Unless you want to be both, which your on your way to becoming, which I hope not, and I bet Kayoko wouldn't like that either so...." She held her chin and observed him, "...Hm...You should wear more blue. It would bring out your eyes. That black looks great with your skin, but if you didn't wear so much of it you'd look better." Tomomi knew she was being picky, but she thought Yasuo needed a little change in attitude meaing a little change in clothes too.

Yasuo crossed his arms defiantely as Tomomi put her hands on her hips. He smirked smugly at her, quirking a brow from the dark corner. He chuckled darkly at her comment.
"Really now..? What if I am a bit of a whiner," Yasuo began stepping out of the dark corner and ambled slowly to where Tomomi stood, arms crossed with the same smug smirk on his face. "And perhaps I am an evil, dark dude. I appreciate the advice, Tomomi," Yasuo finally stepped up to his pink-haired friend. "But someone like me, especially me, just can't change with a few words and suggestions. Believe me when I say," Yasuo began walking behind Tomomi, circling her and the desk she had been sitting at, "Some things can't be changed. I would know. That's why I..." Yasuo sighed and lowered his head, now returning to the dark corner.
"...why I ended up like this."

Tomomi was furious, "This is what I meant!" She pulled him back into the light, "Stop being so negative!!! If something in the past was really soooo bad then why haven't you tried to forget it? And even if these suggestions are probably meaningless to you, can't you just be grateful that someone actually cares?!" She crossed her arms and looked down, "I've had my own slew of troubles to worry about, so don't you think I don't know what either of us are talking about," And she looked up, "Because you're not alone. And even if I didn't, you and Kayoko, she's been so sad lately something bad must have happened to her too!"

Yasuo sighed and shook his head, placing his forehead on the wall. He didn't say anything for a few minutes. He was bordering on a question it seemed, by the way he would open his mouth and close it again.
"Tomomi," he sighed, "If I told you what happened...would you still consider me a friend, no matter what? Or," his tone was now very serious and grim, "would you view me as a monster, just like all the rest?"

Tomomi sighed heavily, "You're not a monster no matter what you did. Okay, if you really are a monster then you'd be the most handsome one." Tomomi smiled, "But, seriously, I would never try to get rid of a friend. Even if you are a bit depressing at times and evil sounding...AND TOO TALL! But, still you are an very appreciated ally and not bad to look at." She crossed her arms and looked at him, "I'm all ears."

Yasuo nodded at her compliments, but was otherwise unfazed. He was determined to get this off his chest and out of his system. To be done with it!
"I was once a member of a gang," Yasuo began, turning his face away from Tomomi. "First it was just a gang of friends. We did all the normal things - eat together, watch movies, play video games and do all that kind of fun stuff together. But then the 'self-proclaimed leader' of the gang began to involve us with heavier things: bullying others, hurting some and stealing. Some of us left, but others stayed."
Yasuo stared at his flute, longing to play another melody and forget the past once more. But he was relentless this time. "Some of them started doing drugs and began having specific targets to pick on. Eventually, they wanted some of the money they were spending on drugs and began drug trade. That's when one of us left and threatened to turn the whole gang into the police."
Yasuo sighed, walking away from the wall and towards the desk, putting his hand on it and leaning on his arm for support. "So, to shut him up, we decided to harm him. First we were to burn his girlfriend's house down to the ground, hopefully killing her." Yasuo rubbed his temples, as if recounting the story made his head ache. "I wasn't there when that happened. I was a look-out, watching for the other member who had threatened us. The gang, which the leader had named 'Asphyxiate', wanted to make sure this guy didn't get the news out."
Yasuo took a deep breath and looked towards Tomomi finally, fighting back tears and biting down his sobs. "I saw him, Tomomi. I saw him, walking down the sidewalk towards his girlfriend's house. He was going to tell her, I know he was. So I did what I was told..I took out a stolen sword and--"
Yasuo collasped, crying and whimpering. He hugged himself, rocking back and forth on the floor. "H-he cried out in pain, but I di-didn't stop sw-swinging," Yasuo manged to stammer out between sobs. "I-I co-couldn't! I-I-I wa-s-s-s sca-r-red, Tomomi!" Yasuo wept, holding his head.
When he finally managed to calm down some, he muttered, "I was too scared and too stupid to think. No matter what the cost or the loss, or whatever that stupid motto was! I killed him!! I murdered the only sensible member of our gang, and I might as well have killed his girlfriend too!" Yasuo cried out, hiding his face in shame and guilt.
"I took away their love. That is why I don't deserve any of it in this world. That is why I might as well be killed too! Someone like me...won't do anything in this world to help. I am a murderer, Tomomi. And you can't change that."

Tomomi knelt down to Yasuo. She wasn't afraid of Yasuo. And she wasn't tooooo surprised. Tomomi grabbed his hand and held it, "But...since you feel guilt. You may have done something really bad, but if you feel guilty for it, you are not the true killer. The true killers are the ones who told you to do this. They are the monsters, the murderers, the heartless...But you," She smiled, "You are not heartless. You wish to be forgiven, and you wish to do something for that guy's girlfriend, even though it may not be possible. And you are helpful!" Tomomi stood and looked at him, "You are important! Especially to Kayoko and me. To me, you are one of my best friends in the whole universe! To Kayoko, you are not only one of her best friends too, but a little something else as well!((Hehe)) And how do you know that guy was good to his girlfriend? Maybe I'm just being mean, but maybe it was sort of a relief for her? Maybe he was abusive or made her his slave, and since he was part of a gang, you never know." Tomomi knelt back down to Yasuo, "But...if you had never done the things you did in the past, you may have never met Kayoko. Or me, or anyone else you've met through the time we've had here." She sighed, "You can't change it...but...but you can learn from it. You know now not to join any gangs called, 'Asphygjsgooo' or whatever it's called. You know not to steal swords. Learning from your mistakes means those mistakes won't happen again."

Yasuo threw his arms around Tomomi. He dug his head into her shoulder as he softly whimpered. "Tomomi," he murmured, his usually dark, quiet voice now chilled with fear. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I had to tell you all of this. I shouldn't have let myself become weak."
Yasuo sniffed and pulled back. "But, thank you. I-I don't know how I could repay you.." He smiled grimly at his friend. "F-from now on, if you ever need anything - ANYTHING, just call me! I'll do your homework, I'll buy your food, I'll come shopping with you if no one else is avalaible."
Yasuo sighed, the smile retreating off his face. "I only ask that...you don't tell anyone of my sin. Please Tomomi, not a soul! I don't think I could handle that kind of..attention."

Tomomi nodded, "I'll never tell anyone. It's your choice who you or I tell, not mine." She smiled and tilted her head, "You don't have to do anything for me. Well...well when I need it maybe. But there is something I will ask of you now, not for me, but for Kayoko." Tomomi looked up to him, "Don't ever break Kayoko's heart. I think she really does care for you. And...hopefully you do to her, but...I can't bare to see her frown. Each time I look at her, she has been frowning. I know something bad happened to her, and to see that frown go lower...it would tear my heart to pieces. And maybe you should try to ease her pain and sorrow just as I did to you now." She paused and then took a breath, "But, the greatest gift you could ever give me, is for you to continue being my friend. Alright?" Tomomi took out her pinky finger to do a pinky promise, and she smiled, hoping Yasuo knew it was a pinky promise, not that she was just sticking up her pinky because she felt like it.

Yasuo smiled when he saw the familiar gesture. The all too familiar gesture - one that caused him to head back into his thoughts and memories.
He could recall the leader, his best friend before the gang went down for the worst. They had always done little things together the most: sometimes they snuck into a movie they weren't allowed in. But whenever they promised to not chicken out, the leader would hold out his pinky and Yasuo was to wrap his around the leader's.
Following those steps, Yasuo wrapped his pinky around Tomomi's. He felt the guilt shed away and the fear slowly evaporate. And he finally spoke with a much stronger, though still retaining its old darkness it in, voice.
"I promise."
