The brown package on one hand and his black school bag in the other, Jun slowly made his way inside the school, squeezing between students who were trying to get to their classes in time. Jun's class was not until the second period, but he dressed up and made ready early enough to be able to accomplish what he wanted to do. Besides, if he wanted to deliver the package to Kayoko Arigawa in person, he would have to hound the corridors for a while.
Even if he was tall, Jun craned his neck to see the passers-by better. He searched for Kayoko's familiar face and when he didn't find it, he remained patient, quite certain that she will come up sooner or later.

His i pod supplied him with non stop dose of good music. The volumes up high, blocking all the other sounds that the students made. All the chatterings and loud stomps of school shoes. From his shoulder hung a slung black mail bag with a bit of graffiti prints in diffrent colors and the strap was covered with pins in diffrent designs and styles. He wore his school uniform which he despises as much as being transfered to another country and school.
Remembering his fathers words, he had to meet his cousin. He knew nothing of having a cousin, at first it was a bad idea. But maybe, it was better, someone he could talk to and stuff like that. At elast it was not a girl.
Students in groups and even not, were fighting each other to go to their respective classes.
"Whoa!" He exclaimed as a student almost ran him over.
As he watched the mob, he noticed a boy with the perfect characteristics of his cousin. Not thinking twice he removed the ear plugs and approached him.
"Hey, are you my cousin?" He asked from behind him.

Above the din of the chatter of students and locker doors slamming shut, Jun was surprised to hear a voice behind him. He turned around so quick that his neck almost snapped and grimacing at the unexpected pain he faced the speaker. It was a guy he didn't recognize, expect for his uniform indicating that he belonged in Daaku.
More surprising was his rather rude question, which was whether they were cousins or not. Jun doesn't remember having cousins with foreign accent, but he was clearly intrigued, if not ruffled, by the sudden inquiry.
"And what made you think I am the person you're referring to as your cousin?" he asked back. He glanced at the crowd for a bit, and not seeing Kayoko, he returned his gaze back on the boy.

Kayoko felt she could volenteer to do work, even if she had homework. So she volenteered to take pictures of the school grounds and students for a class. She would walk up to a person and say, "Excuse my interruption please but, may I take a picture of you?" Kayoko was taking pictures of lovely things and different people from different kami. She saw Rinji and Jun, so she went over to them both. Kayoko smiled and asked, "Please excuse my interruption but, may I take a picture of you both?", as she bowed to them politely.

Even before the guy could answer, Jun heard another voice, but this time, a more familiar one. He turned to the direction of the voice to find Kayoko, who just asked to take a picture of him and the boy. He found this request rather weird; what was it for? Instead of answering her question, he handed the brown package to her.
"Ne, Kayoko-chan, I got something for you," he said, holding out the package with a smile.

Kayoko was surprised, someone wanted to give her something? Kayoko smiled happily as she took the gift. "Thank you so very much, Jun-san!...What could it be?" She asked curiously as she opened it.

Jun nodded slightly. He watched Kayoko open the package in front of him to reveal a purple sweater with the same shade as to that of the Daaku colors. It was was bought in a shop selling hand-knitted sweaters and Jun especially requested for this one to be made. He had to pay as much as twice the normal price of other hand-knitted sweaters, but he didn't mind. It was just the way he is when it comes to gift giving.
The sweater was the one he promised to Kayoko when she had to give him hers as an apology for soaking him. Jun initially refused the sweater, but gave in finally as the cold was getting unbearable. Getting soaked on a very cold morning was something he wasn't used to experiencing.
"As promised," Jun began, "there's a new sweater for you. I was supposed to hand it to you before but I kept on forgetting."

"And what made you think I am the person you're referring to as your cousin?"
This was a bad idea...
Slolwy, Rinji started to back off, thinking he must have asked the wrong person. He was about to put back on the plugs and continue where he was going and forget about the incident. But something stopped him, what was his cousins name again? Jun? Jun Seido wasnt it? He remembered his mother or in their language, his Okasan told him of it.
Though at that time he couldnt picture it well. How he looked like for his Okasan havent seen him since, he doesnt know. Only a name could help him now to find his jap cousin among all these, to what seemed to him as aliens, or rather he was the alien.
But even before he could ask the silver haired dude if he was his couz, a girl,a familliar girl interupted the plan. It was kayoko, if he remembered it right, she was the cheerful gal who gave him the chocolates on valentines day. A package wrapped in brown paaper wa sgiven to her by the suspected couz of his.
He didnt need to wonder anymore what it was for the silver haired dude already said it. A new sweater. Not to be rude of course he let them finish speaking first, then its his turn.
"Excuse me," He started.
"Are you Jun? Jun Seido?" He asked with a little doubt nad uncertainty.

Jun temporarily left Kayoko to her gift and turned his attention to his "cousin". He looked a bit foreign to Jun, and basing on his slight accent, he was not a pure Japanese.
"Well, yes, I am Jun Seido," he replied to his question. "And you?" he asked back. Jun tried to place his face on the perimeters of his family's own features, and he couldn't exactly place the guy, but he did seem familiar.
Jun tried to remember if his parents had mentioned any relatives migrating to the western part of the world, or having intermarried with foreigners. Honestly, his mother's side of the family was far more known to him than his father's. Jun didn't have enough time to ask about his Oto-san's family, or his cousins from that side. But perhaps he did mention a little bit about going to the US to visit a family... was this person in front of him a part of that?

Rinji smiled awkardly as he noticed his 'cousin' looking at him, or rather observing him, as if trying to find something he doesnt know if he had. The thought of asking the wrong person had vanished. He had asked the right person and found the right one too. Though he didnt look like much of him. Of course he wouldnt, he was only half jap, not a full one.
"thank god, I thought i asked the wrong person," He said as he looked relived.
"Im Rinji Levit, your... ah, cousin," He introduced himself, though a bit reluctnat in saying the 'cousin' part.
"If youre wondering how," he said fiddling with the ends of his shirt.
"I am too," rinji said.
"But this I can tell you, Your father is my mothers older brother, thats why we beacme... uh- cousins," He briefly explained.
This was not the perfect introduction or meeting he was expecting but. Rinji imagined more of the dramatic one, the one where they woud hug and tell one another how they looked for one another for sucha long time and stuff. but that was heavy, too heavy. He was not ready on that emotional outburst and drama, he would highly prefer this than the melodramatic one.
