Kayoko was SO surprised! But she noticed Jun and Rinji were talking about family matters, so she kept quiet.

OOC: Can't help it, LOL at the last paragraph. Ehehe, sorry.

"Oh," Jun replied, obviously dumbstruck. So they were really cousins? He then wondered how he could've possibly missed out on a relative's existence. Jun was rather close to family, but as everyone knows, he barely knew anything about his father's side. All he could remember were the trips to the US to visit 'loved ones' but never their names or how they were related. Jun went as far as suspecting his father of having another family, but he never really voiced it out; it was more like a nagging thought.
When his father died, Jun still wasn't informed of his relatives in the States and he simply forgot about those trips. But now he realized the big possibility of what Rinji said.
Of course, a revelation like this was not something to take lightly. What if this Rinji was only pulling a joke? But he noticed the reluctance of the person, fiddling on the ends of his shirt as he tried to explain the relation. It was a wonder how Rinji picked him out of the vast Japanese population. But Jun needed not to think a lot about it; it was probably his platinum blonde hair that made him stand out--again.
Jun extended a hand towards Rinji. He had to make his cousin feel welcome, even if Jun still has a few tiny doubts within himself. But that could be easily resolved. He could simply ask his mother about it, right?
"Then it's nice to meet you, Rinji," he said, smiling sincerely, then glancing at Kayoko and smiling at her too.

Kayoko smiled. "So you guys are related! That's great!" Kayoko looked at Jun with glazed eyes. "Thank you so much! I thought I would be the only one giving out gifts, thank you!"

Explaining to his now cousin how they were related made thing seem clearer for both of them. From the change of his features, it looked like he was as surprised as he was back then as his Oka-san told him of it. He simply smiles out of all the revelations and all. For a moment he looked at the outstretched hand of Jun.
.SNAP.
Hey! He's offering a hand! Take it!
He mentally slapped himself for being absent minded again. Rinji gladly took it, shook it and released it with the same smile Jun was showing. He felt relieved, happy, surprised and excited. What was gonna happen now? Now he had found a not so distant relative out of all these japs? A new chapter and a new character for the thrilling life of Rinji Levit.
Alright, so much of the family matters. Rinji glances at kayoko who seemed to be happy for them too, with the smile he was seeing right now. She thanked Jun, his couz who gave her a brand new sweater. Thinking, this was also a good time to say thank you as well for the thoughtful gift, the chocolate last valentines day.
"Hey," He reminded her of his existence.
"I wanna say thank you with a bunch of hugs and kisses for the chocolates," Rinji said with the sincerity of a saint and a smile of the pope.

Kayoko smiled. "I was happy to give them out!" Kayoko looked at Jun. "Thank you SO much!!"
((If anyone doesn't know what White Day is, I looked some stuff up! Here ya go!:
White Day is a holiday that was created by a concentrated marketing effort in Japan. White Day is celebrated in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan on March 14, one month after Valentine's Day. On Valentine's Day, women give gifts to men; on White Day, men who received chocolate on Valentine's Day return the favor and give gifts to women. This holiday is also beginning to catch on in America.
There are many theories about the origins of White Day, but according to one, the holiday began in 1965, when a marshmallow maker started marketing to men that they should pay back the women who gave them chocolate and other gifts with marshmallows. Originally it was called Marshmallow Day, and later it was changed to White Day.
Soon, the chocolate companies started realizing that they could capitalize as well on this day, and began marketing white chocolate. Now, Japanese men give white and non-white chocolate, as well as other edible and non-edible gifts, such as jewellery or objects of sentimental value, to the women who were kind enough to think of them and give them chocolate on Valentine's Day a month prior.
In South Korea, candies are the usual present.
Let's just pretend boys and GIRLS can give stuff on White Day!))

OOC: Aha, so Jun definitely has to know about White Day. Uhuh...

Jun thought Rinji wasn't going to respond. He wondered at the blank look that his new-found cousin was giving to his outstretched hand. For a moment, Jun considered taking his hand back, but then Rinji seemed to regain his senses and shook it with a smile, appearing relieved, probably because Jun had believed him.
Finding a cousin on this otherwise normal day was a rare opportunity for him. Relatives don't normally pop in suddenly and present themselves to be of relation, but Jun doesn't have a qualm about it; his final doubts about Rinji's personality seemed to be ebbing away. The fact that Jun found his story easy to believe was something to consider, because Jun's instinct somehow stated that it was true. And Jun always trusts his instinct; even if it's not always right.
Withdrawing his hand, Jun turned to Kayoko and saw her apparent gratitude for his gift. He wished she wouldn't look at him like that; Jun tends to be a bit bashful when people thank him.
"You're very much welcome," Jun answered with a sheepish grin. "It was a promise I'm glad to keep."
Hearing Rinji thanking her as well, it wasn't hard to figure out that Kayoko had spent Valentine's Day running around school and stealthily giving out chocolates. Jun thought of the coming White Day; it was time to return the favor.

Kayoko smiled. "Even though White Day is mainly for boys to give gifts to girls, I thought I'd just give a gift to everyone that gave a gift to me! That way I can thank everyone that gave me something! Even if they just said 'Thank you!'! That's a gift for me!"
